Several scoops of Ninja Creami lemon sorbet in a bowl.

If you’ve been with me for a bit, you know I’m obsessed with my Ninja Creami Ice Cream machine. It pops out the best frozen treats with such little effort, perfect for a hot summer day. This Ninja Creami Protein Ice Cream and my tropical Dole Whip are heavy hitters in my household, but lately, I’ve been craving sorbet (who doesn’t love Italian ice!?). So, I dreamt up this lemony treat (and a Mango Sorbet that you have to try next).

This Ninja Creami lemon sorbet is the stuff of dreams. Packed with flavor from fresh lemon juice and zest and the rich, natural sweetness of honey, it’s a 4-ingredient masterpiece that’s perfect for a hot day. The creamy texture glides across the taste buds in waves of sweet and puckery tang that’ll have you licking the bowl.

Why This Ninja Creami Sorbet Hits Every Time

This sweet, tart lemon sorbet is one of those delicious frozen treats you’ll want to make again and again in your Ninja Creami machine. Here’s why:

  • Real lemon flavor. No extracts or artificial flavors here, folks. All of the flavor for this sorbet comes from fresh lemon juice and fresh lemon zest. Sweetened with a smidge of honey, it’ll have you puckering up just the right amount.
  • A dessert you can feel good about. Made from nothing but fresh lemon, water, and honey, this homemade sorbet packs all of the satisfaction with no refined sugar or corn syrup.
  • Super easy. With just four ingredients and a few simple steps, this frozen dessert is so easy. Just sit back, relax, and let your Ninja Creami do the work!

Recipe Ingredients

You’ll only need four simple ingredients to make this Ninja Creami sorbet recipe, and here they are. You’ll find exact measurements in the recipe card below.

  • Lemon juice – Because you can’t have lemon sorbet without lemon juice! I highly recommend using freshly squeezed lemon juice as opposed to something bottled. The flavor of fresh fruit juice is SO much better. Any lemons will do, but Meyer lemons are my favorites.
  • Water – One of the main differences between ice cream and classic sorbet is that sorbet uses water, whereas ice cream uses heavy cream. Use filtered water for the best flavor.
  • Honey – I use honey instead of white sugar. Feel free to use more or less depending on your preference for sweetness (the sugar content is a bit lower in this lemon sorbet recipe). Maple syrup would work too!
  • Lemon zest – Fresh off the lemon, lemon zest gives this dessert the most vibrant flavors! That dried, jarred stuff won’t work here. My favorite zester works like a charm.

  1. Put it all together. Mix the lemon juice, water, honey, and lemon zest together in the Ninja Creami pint container. The best way to mix it is with an immersion blender to blend the zest up a bit.

My Pro Tips

Tips for Success

No need to make up your own rules here, all. I’ve gone through the trial and error for you, and here’s what I’ve learned:

  • Texture check. If your sorbet is a little crumbly when you’re done running the respin cycle, add a tiny splash of water and run the respin cycle again to get a creamier texture.
  • Fresh is best. This sorbet just won’t be the same if you try to use bottled lemon juice (or worse, jarred zest). Take the extra time to zest fresh lemons and squeeze the juice out of ’em (a citrus squeezer makes it easy!).
  • Adjust the sweetness. After mixing all of the ingredients in the pint container, give it a taste for the perfect balance of sweetness. If it’s not sweet enough, add honey (1 tablespoon at a time) until you’re satisfied.
  • 24-hour rule. As tempting as it may be to get this sweet treat in a bowl and in your belly ASAP, patience pays off here. For best results give the sorbet mixture at least 24 hours to freeze before running it through the Ninja Creami. Otherwise, the texture will be off.

Fun Variations

Feeling creative? Don’t be afraid to throw your own spin on this Ninja Creami sorbet recipe. Here are some fun ideas:

  • Swap your citrus. If you’re more of an orange person, swap the lemon juice and zest out for orange juice and zest. Lime or grapefruit (juice and zest) would also work- this recipe is a great way to use up any extra citrus you have.
  • An aromatic spin. Consider adding a little fresh lavender to your Ninja Creami pint. Use an immersion blender to ensure proper incorporation, and get ready to wow your taste buds. Mint would be fun, too!
  • Dress it up. While this sorbet is delicious on its own, I sometimes like to drizzle mine with a little honey or maple syrup. Fresh berries or my blackberry chia jam would be a fabulous addition, as well!

How to Store Your Sorbet

Store any leftover sorbet in the Ninja Creami pint container (with the lid on). You can also scoop it into an airtight container. It’ll keep in the freezer for up to 1 week.

When you’re ready to enjoy, leave the sorbet out for 5 minutes or so to give it a chance to soften a bit.
