This easy Ninja Creami Strawberry Ice Cream if smooth, creamy, and packed with real strawberry flavor. Made with juicy strawberries and a splash of cream, it’s a lighter homemade frozen treat that still tastes like classic strawberry ice cream.

Strawberry ice cream doesn’t get better than this. Sweet, sun-ripened strawberries blended into a dreamy, velvety texture that tastes like pure summer in every bite.

Like my classic vanilla ice cream (and this Ninja Creami Chocolate Ice Cream), it’s a lighter, better-for-you version than anything you’ll find at the store, but it still delivers the rich, creamy texture and real strawberry flavor you’d expect from a classic strawberry ice cream.

Creamy Strawberry Ice Cream Made in the Ninja Creami

What to Expect: This Ninja Creami strawberry ice cream has a smooth, creamy texture with sweet, fresh strawberry flavor in every bite. It’s lighter than traditional cream-heavy ice cream but still creamy.

Here’s why you’ll love it:

  • Real strawberry flavor. Sweet, ripe strawberries are the star of this recipe, giving the ice cream its naturally fruit flavor and beautiful pink color.
  • Easy to make. This recipe only requires about 10 minutes of active time. Simply blend the ingredients, freeze the pint, and let the Ninja Creami do the rest. Most of the time is completely hands-off.
  • Creamy without being heavy. This recipe has the rich texture you want from strawberry ice cream without relying on large amounts of heavy cream.
  • A lighter frozen treat. Naturally sweetened with strawberries and made with simple ingredients, it’s a lighter option than many store-bought strawberry ice creams.
  • Perfect for summer. With its bright strawberry flavor and refreshing texture, this is the kind of homemade ice cream you’ll want to keep on repeat during strawberry season.

  • Fresh strawberries: Make sure you pick sweet, ripe strawberries. If they aren’t in season, you can also use thawed (and drained) frozen strawberries.
  • Milk: Part of the beauty of the Ninja Creami is that it makes rich, velvety ice cream without the need for high-fat dairy. I think 2% is perfect, but you can use whole milk or half and half.
  • Heavy cream: Just a splash for a little extra richness.
  • Vanilla pudding mix: For sweetness and added creaminess. Make sure you grab INSTANT pudding mix. The kind you have to cook won’t work.
  • Maple syrup (optional): Or honey. The fruit and pudding mix adds just enough sweetness, but if you prefer a sweeter ice cream, go for it!

Variation Ideas

This recipe is super fun (and easy) to play with. Here are a few of my favorite ways to mix things up:

  • Higher protein. Add a scoop of protein powder or a scoop of Greek Yogurt for an easy strawberry protein ice cream with an extra creamy texture.
  • Dairy-free. Use your favorite dairy-free milk, such as almond milk, oat milk, or coconut milk, for a dairy-free version.
  • Add a mix-in (or two). Try white chocolate chips, graham crackers, Golden oreos, chopped cheesecake bites, or dark chocolate chunks. After re-spinning, create a well in the center, add your mix-ins, and run the Mix-In cycle.
  • Strawberry cheesecake. Add a few ounces of softened cream cheese to the base and mix in graham cracker pieces after spinning for a strawberry cheesecake-inspired version.
  • More strawberry flavor. Add a few extra strawberries or a spoonful of strawberry jam for an even more intense strawberry flavor and deeper pink color.
  • Fresh or frozen strawberries. Fresh strawberries work great when they’re in season, but frozen strawberries work well year-round and can be a convenient option.

Expert Recipe Tips

Get this summery ice cream right the first time with these simple tips:

  • Choose riper strawberries. The sweeter and more flavorful your strawberries are, the better your ice cream will taste. If you’re strawberries aren’t very sweet, you may want to add a little extra honey or maple syrup.
  • Blend until completely smooth. For the creamiest texture, blend the strawberries and other ingredients until no large pieces remain. Scrape down the sides of the blender as need to make sure everything is fully incorporated.
  • Taste before freezing. Before pouring the mixture into your Creami pint, give it a taste. If you’d like it sweeter, add a little more honey or maple syrup and blend again.
  • Freeze completely. Let the mixture freeze for a full 24 hours before running it through your Ninja Creami Ice Cream Maker.
  • Use the re-spin function if needed. If the ice cream looks crumbly after the first spin, run the re-spin cycle. For an even softer texture, add 1-2 tablespoons of milk before re-spinning.

How to Store

Store leftover strawberry ice cream in your Ninja Creami pint container with the lid secured or transfer it to another freezer-safe airtight container. Keep frozen for up to 1 week for the best texture and flavor.

When you’re ready to enjoy it again, the ice cream will likely be frozen solid. Let the pint sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes, then process it again using the re-spin function if needed to restore its creamy texture.

Equipment

  • Ninja Creami Ice Cream Machine

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh strawberry slices
  • 1 1/4 cups 2% milk
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla pudding mix
  • Optional: 1-2 tsp maple syrup or honey

Instructions

  • Add all ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend on high for about 1 minute until smooth.
  • Pour the mixture into the Ninja Creami pint container, cover, and freeze for 24 hours on a level surface.
  • Run the light ice cream mode once. Scrape down the sides of the pint container with a spoon or butterknife.
  • Run the respin mode once and check the consistency. If the mixture is still crumbly, run the respin mode one more time.

Notes

  • Fresh or frozen strawberries work. Frozen strawberries should be thawed and fully blended.
  • Blend until completely smooth before freezing. This ensures the best texture.
  • Freeze level. Make sure the pint is on a level surface for even processing.
  • Re-spin if crumbly. Add 1-2 tablespoons of milk and re-spin.
  • Serve after spinning. This ensures the smoothest texture.

Made this in my ninja creami with some fresh strawberries and it was amazing. Such a classic flavor. I will definitely make it again!

Can you add a scoop of protein? Does it change the quantity of the other ingredients?

    1. Jamie N, Registered Dietitian says:

Yes you can, you just may need to decrease the liquid if it puts it over the fill line.
