If you’re a peanut butter lover, this Ninja Creami peanut butter ice cream is about to become your new favorite frozen treat. It’s smooth, creamy, packed with real peanut butter flavor, and made with just 4 simple ingredients.

Peanut butter is one of my favorite flavors to make in my Ninja Creami machine because it naturally creates an incredibly creamy texture while adding rich flavor to every bite. I’ve tested a lot of Creami recipes over the years, and always love this one because it’s easy, customizable, and actually tastes like peanut butter instead of vanilla ice cream with a little peanut butter mixed in.
Easy Creamy Ninja Creami Peanut Butter Ice Cream
What to Expect: Peanut butter is truly the star here. The flavor is rich and noticeable in every bite while still being balanced enough to pair well with mix-ins like peanut butter cups, chocolate chips, or chopped peanuts. The texture is smooth, creamy, and scoopable right after spinning.
Here’s why you’ll love it:
- Real peanut butter flavor. Every bite contains rich peanut butter flavor without being overly sweet.
- Just 4 ingredients. You only need a handful of simple ingredients and a few minutes of prep.
- A little protein boost. Each serving contains about 10 grams of protein thanks to the milk and peanut butter.
- Easy to customize. Add peanut butter cups, chocolate chips, protein powder, chopped peanuts, or your favorite toppings.
- No cooking required. Unlike traditional homemade ice cream, there’s no custard, egg yolks, or stovetop cooking involved.
- Perfect for peanut butter lovers. If peanut butter desserts are your thing, this is one of those recipes you’ll find yourself making again and again.
Ingredient Notes

- Milk: I like using Fairlife 2% milk because it’s extra creamy and higher in protein, but any milk will work. For the best texture, I recommend using at least 2% milk since lower-fat milks tend to make a less creamy ice cream.
- Peanut butter: Use your favorite peanut butter here. Traditional creamy peanut butter tends to create the smoothest texture, but natural peanut butter works too. One thing I love about this recipe is that peanut butter is truly the star. This recipe delivers noticeable peanut butter flavor. If you love crunchy peanut butter, I recommend stirring chopped peanuts in after spinning rather than using crunchy peanut butter in the base. Peanut butter powder can also be used for a lighter option, though the finished ice cream won’t be quite as creamy.
- Instant vanilla pudding mix: The pudding mix helps create a smoother, creamier texture and helps prevent the ice cream from becoming icy after freezing. Regular vanilla pudding mix or sugar-free pudding mix both work well. If you prefer an instant pudding mix with less additives, this Simple Mixes pudding mix is a good option, or check your local grocery store for options.
- Vanilla extract: A little vanilla helps round out the peanut butter flavor. This one is my favorite.
- Maple syrup or honey: Depending on the peanut butter and pudding mix you use, you may not need any additional sweetener. I recommend tasting the mixture before freezing and adding sweetener only if you’d like a sweeter ice cream.
Easy Ways to Customize Your Peanut Butter Ice Cream
- Add more protein. Add a scoop of either vanilla protein powder or chocolate protein powder for an extra protein boost.
- Make it chocolate peanut butter. Use chocolate milk, add 1-2 tablespoons of cocoa powder, or mix in mini chocolate chips after spinning. You can also use chocolate protein powder for a chocolate peanut butter version.
- Add extra peanut butter flavor. Swirl in a spoonful of peanut butter after spinning or drizzle melted peanut butter over the top before serving.
- Add some crunch. Mix in chopped peanuts or crushed pretzels for extra texture.
- Make a peanut butter sundae. Top with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, chopped peanuts, or peanut butter cups.
- Try a PB&J version. Swirl your favorite strawberry, raspberry, or grape jam into the ice cream before serving. I especially love it with my Raspberry Chia Jam.
- Make it dairy free. Use dairy-free milk instead of regular milk for a dairy free version. Oat milk is typically creamiest but unsweetened almond milk, coconut milk, soy milk or cashew milk would all work!
- Try more dessert-inspired toppings. Oreos, mini marshmallows, toffee bits, and crushed cookies are all delicious on peanut butter ice cream.
How to Make Ninja Creami Peanut Butter Ice Cream
One of the things I love about this recipe is that there’s no cooking or custard-making involved. Just mix everything together, freeze it overnight, and let the Ninja Creami create the creamy texture.

- In a mixing bowl or directly in the Ninja Creami pint container, combine milk, pudding mix, peanut butter, vanilla extract (and maple syrup if adding).

- Whisk vigorously or use an immersion blender to combine the ingredients until smooth. Freeze the ice cream mixture in the pint container with storage lid for at least 24 hours.

- Once frozen, put the outer bowl lid securely on the pint container and then place into the Ninja Creami machine. Press the “Lite Ice Cream” button.

- After the first spin, press the re-spin button two additional times for the creamiest texture. Add mix-ins if desired and use the “Mix-in” function. Serve and enjoy!

Jamie’s Tips
Tips for the Creamiest Texture
- Don’t stop after one spin. I’ve found that lower-fat and lower-sugar Ninja Creami recipes often need multiple spins. If your peanut butter ice cream looks crumbly after the first spin, re-spin again.
- Re-spin before adding liquid. If the texture isn’t as creamy as you’d like, try another Re-Spin cycle before adding milk. A tablespoon of milk can make a big difference, so I like to use it as a last resort.
- Use at least 2% milk. For the creamiest results, I recommend using at least 2% milk. Lower-fat milks tend to create a slightly icier texture.
- Freeze the pint completely. Let the mixture freeze for a full 24 hours before spinning. Starting with a fully frozen base gives the Ninja Creami the best chance of create a smooth, creamy texture.
How to Store
Store leftover peanut butter ice cream in the Ninja Creami pint container with the lid secured for up to 1 week. Before refreezing, smooth the top into an even layer to help the Ninja Creami process it more evenly later.
When you’re ready to enjoy it again, the ice cream will likely be frozen solid. Let the pint sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes, then use the Re-Spin function to restore its creamy texture. If needed, add 1-2 tablespoons of milk before re-spinning.
Pro tip: If you use your Ninja Creami often, keep a few extra pint containers on hand. It’s an easy way to prep multiple flavors at once and always have one ready to spin.
