Why you’ll love this
Does having plain fruit for a snack sound boring? This delicious dip adds a sweet, creamy texture and a great source of protein!
This cottage cheese fruit dip is an easy way to add nutrition to your snack or dessert. With only four simple ingredients you can have this dip ready in under 5-10 minutes.
The best part of this tasty dip is that it feels like a dessert but packs in 14 grams of protein per serving! It’s a simple way to boost your fruit intake, getting more fiber and nutrients into your day.
You’ll love having this dip prepped for a quick snack or for a little treat after dinner to satisfy your sweet tooth. It tastes even better the next day and keeps well in the refrigerator.
Let’s get into what you need to make it! No one will believe it’s cottage cheese.
Ingredients
- Cottage Cheese: You’d never guess cottage cheese is the main ingredient in this dip! I always prefer to use a full fat cottage cheese for dips to keep them smooth and creamy. Good Culture is my favorite brand of cottage cheese to use.
- Honey: The honey flavor pairs well with fruit, but you can swap honey for maple syrup, brown sugar or other sweetener of your choice.
- Lemon Juice: A little lemon juice adds brightness and brings in a cheesecake-like flavor into the dip.
- Vanilla Extract: Just a little vanilla flavor brings this dip together.
How to make cottage cheese fruit dip
- Add all ingredients to a food processor or high speed blender. Blend on high until completely smooth, scraping the sides down as needed.
- Transfer to a bowl and refrigerate until you’re ready to serve! If desired, top with an extra drizzle of honey!
How to store
Store your leftover cottage cheese dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days for optimal freshness.
What to serve with
This cottage cheese fruit dip goes well with just about any fruit, but these are my favorites:
- Apple slices
- Strawberries
- Blueberries
- Raspberries
- Pineapple
- Grapes
- Orange slices or clementine sections
- Pretzels
- Graham crackers
- Animal crackers
- Any of your other favorite dippers
Variations
- Scoop some dip into a serving bowl and top with berries and granola for a high protein cottage cheese granola bowl.
- Mix up the flavor with a little sprinkle of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice.
- Cut back on the sweetener and pair with savory ingredients like veggies or crackers.
- If you don’t have a blender, swap the cottage cheese for plain Greek yogurt, or use whipped cottage cheese.
- Top with more honey, mini chocolate chips or chopped nuts.
- Swirl in mashed strawberries and top with graham cracker crumbs for an easy strawberry cheesecake cup.
- Serve with fruit kabobs for a snack the whole family will love!
