This creamy lightened up pumpkin fluff is the perfect way to ring in pumpkin spice season. Packed with cozy fall flavors and a protein boost from Greek yogurt, this fluffy dip is the perfect treat for pumpkin lovers.
This creamy pumpkin fluff is packed with the iconic flavors of fall—pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Plus it has a sneaky protein boost from Greek yogurt, just like in my High Protein Cheesecake Fluff (which you should check out next!).
And the creamy texture? Absolute perfection. It’s light, airy, and silky smooth, somewhere between whipped cream and a rich, velvety pudding. Not too heavy and not too light, it really is just right. Best of all, it’s so easy to make!
Easy Pumpkin Fluff You’ll Make Again and Again
Ready to fall in love with your new favorite easy dessert? Here’s why this easy pumpkin fluff recipe has my heart (and I’m pretty sure it’ll capture yours, too):
- Pumpkin season flavors. Bursting with rich pumpkin flavor, warming spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger (and a slight tang from the Greek yogurt), this pumpkin fluff brings all the cozy vibes of fall straight to your table.
- Light, but satisfying. Somewhere between your favorite whipped cream and a creamy, decadent pudding, this lightened up pumpkin fluff hits all the right spots. It’s velvety smooth and wonderfully light and fluffy, but also dense enough to be satisfying.
- Quick and easy. All it takes is a couple of minutes of whisking and mixing to make this no bake dessert. Perfect for when you’re short on time but still want a sweet treat.
- Protein and fiber. A 1-cup serving has 7 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber, for a really filling and satisfying treat. You can also add a 1/2-1 cup of vanilla protein powder for a bigger protein boost.
What You’ll Need
Grab your ingredients and get ready to make some magic! Here’s what you’ll need. Have a look at the recipe card below for precise measurements:
- Canned pumpkin – Make sure it’s pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling. They look very similar on the shelf, but pumpkin pie filling is loaded with extra sugar.
- Plain Greek yogurt – I prefer full-fat Greek yogurt for a richer, thicker fluff, but you can use fat-free Greek yogurt if you want to.
- Vanilla instant pudding mix – You can use regular or sugar-free instant pudding. Just make sure it says “instant” on it.
- Pumpkin pie spice – For that pumpkin spice flavor of course! You can also use a combo of cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and cloves.
- Maple syrup – Honey will also work, but maple syrup has stronger fall vibes!
- Whipped topping – You can use Tru Whip or Cool Whip. Regular or sugar-free is fine. Make sure to let it thaw at room temperature before you begin. If you don’t want to use a store-bought whipped topping, you can always make your own whipped cream instead!
How to Make Pumpkin Fluff
All you need is ~5 minutes to whip up this cloud-like pumpkin fluff. Here’s how it’s done (see the recipe card below for more detailed instructions):
- Combine. Add the pumpkin, yogurt, pudding mix, pumpkin pie spice, and maple syrup to a large bowl.
- Whisk. Whisk for 2 minutes (ideally with an electric hand mixer).
- Fluff it up. Gently fold in whipped topping with the pumpkin mixture.
- Serve. Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready.
My Pro Tip
Tips and Variation Ideas
- More protein. Bump up the protein by adding 1/2-1 cup of vanilla protein powder (Clean Simple Eats is my fave). Just add a splash of milk if your fluff gets a little too dry.
- Be gentle. When folding the Cool Whip into the fluff, do so gently and with a rubber spatula (if you have one). This will help you maintain volume and fluff.
- Sweeten slowly. Start with 1 tablespoon of maple syrup. Once everything’s mixed together, taste the fluff. Add more maple syrup, 1 tablespoon at a time, as needed.
- Don’t over-mix. Do not over-mix or your fluff will lose volume.
- Keep it cold. This pumpkin fluff should be kept cold. Otherwise, it will melt, causing it to fall flat and become runny. So, keep it in the fridge until you’re ready to use it!
- Pudding swap. Want an even richer, sweeter dessert fluff? Swap the vanilla instant pudding out for butterscotch or cheesecake-flavored instant pudding.
- Chocolate addition. I’ll sometimes fold mini-chocolate chips into my pumpkin fluff. I love the chocolate-pumpkin combo, and they add such a fun little crunch.
Ways to Serve Pumpkin Fluff
I love mine with graham crackers, vanilla wafers, cookies, apple slices, or even layered into a trifle. Spoon some over your favorite ice cream (it would be great with my Pumpkin Ninja Creami Ice Cream, Ninja Creami Vanilla Ice Cream or with this Ninja Creami Chocolate Ice Cream) or a decadent Fudgy Cottage Cheese Brownie.
It’s even perfect for topping these Maple Brown Sugar Overnight Oats or my famous Pumpkin Pancakes. You could even spoon it into a graham cracker crust and top with whipped cream (kind of like a no bake pumpkin pie).
Want to eat it plain, spooned out of the bowl? That’s a totally valid option, too!
Storing Extras
Seal the leftover pumpkin fluff in an airtight container. It’ll keep in the fridge for up to 4 days.
