Why you’ll love it

Move over boring steamed broccoli, this air fried broccoli and feta cheese is SO yummy and the perfect side to change things up.

You’ll use simple ingredients for this flavorful broccoli like feta cheese, a squeeze of fresh lemon juice, and garlic for a great side dish that’s done in less time.

It takes less than 5 minutes to throw together, plus it has 3 grams of fiber and 6 grams of protein per serving, so it’s going to leave you feeling satisfied, too.

I love serving this crispy broccoli as a delicious side dish with simple roast chicken (or just grab a rotisserie chicken from the store) and roasted potatoes or rice. Air frying cooks food in a fraction of the time so that you can get food on the dinner table faster.

Ingredients

  1. Fresh broccoli: You’ll need fresh broccoli florets. You can grab a large head of broccoli and chop it yourself or to save yourself some time, grab yourself a big bag of pre-cut broccoli florets.
  2. Avocado oil or olive oil: I like to use avocado oil because it has a lower smoke point and is still packed with healthy fats.
  3. Feta cheese: Sharp and tangy feta cheese is the perfect compliment to garlicky lemony broccoli. You can buy a block and dice it up or use crumbled feta cheese.
  4. Fresh lemon juice: Fresh lemon juice adds the perfect amount of bright lemon flavor to counteract the saltiness of the feta.
  5. Garlic cloves: Fresh garlic, of course! You can also use garlic powder if you’re out of fresh.
  6. Salt + black pepper

Recipe FAQ

Can I make this in the oven?

Yes! Preheat your oven to 400 degrees F and bake for about 20 minutes (cooking time may vary) on a lined baking sheet instead of the air fryer.

Can I use this recipe with other veggies?

Absolutely! This recipe also works great with:

  • Cauliflower
  • Zucchini
  • Yellow squash
  • Brussel sprouts
  • Eggplant
  • Green beans

Does this broccoli store well?

Yes, it’s just as good next day! Store leftovers in an airtight container or up to 4 days. You can microwave to reheat or reheat in the air fryer for a crispier final product.

Variation ideas

  • Use other veggies instead of broccoli like cauliflower, zucchini or brussel sprouts.
  • Swap in your favorite cheese. Parmesan cheese, blue cheese, gorgonzola, goat cheese or even mozzarella would work.
  • Add other spices like onion powder, bagel seasoning or red pepper flakes for some spice.
  • Toss in balsamic vinegar instead of lemon juice, or drizzle with balsamic glaze.
  • Add some lemon zest for even more citrusy flavor.
