This whipped ricotta dip is one of the easiest appetizer recipes and you only need a handful of ingredients. Creamy ricotta is the perfect match for fresh lemon juice, garlic and a drizzle of honey. I love serving this with crostini, crusty bread or my favorite crackers and fresh veggies.

Why you’ll love this
This creamy whipped ricotta dip recipe is so simple but so incredibly flavorful too. All you need is a handful of simple ingredients and a food processor!
You’ll combine ricotta with fresh lemon, garlic, a touch of honey, salt and then top with fresh rosemary and thyme. It’s blended into the most delicious, creamy texture, perfect for dipping.
It’s great for any dinner party, but especially perfect for a holiday appetizer. The fresh herbs add the perfect holiday touch! If you ask me, homemade dips are the best part of any spread!
Another thing I love about this dip is that you can make your holiday or dinner party prep even easier by making it ahead, because it stores great in the fridge!
Let’s get into what you need.
Ingredients
- Whole milk ricotta cheese: You’ll need store-bought ricotta cheese, of course. I recommend full fat ricotta cheese but you can use any kind you like.
- Honey: A little bit of honey adds just the right amount of sweetness.
- Garlic: I love adding fresh garlic to this ricotta dip to add the perfect amount of savory garlic flavor.
- Fresh lemon juice: Lemon juice adds a little bit of brightness that compliments the slightly sweet flavors of ricotta and honey.
- Salt: I love a sweet and salty combo, so salt is a must in this dip.
- Rosemary and thyme: Fresh thyme and rosemary truly take this dip to the next level, so add as much as you like!
- Optional: I love adding a little bit of heat by drizzling with hot honey! You can also add black pepper to the dip as well.
