The Perfect Dessert For Hot Summer Days

This may be the best Ninja Creami ice cream maker recipe I’ve ever made. Ripe strawberries, lemon juice and a touch of honey create the creamiest, dreamiest sorbet with the most silky smooth texture. Here’s why you’ll love this one too:

  • Super easy. Give your ingredients a quick blend and freeze. This easy recipe is ready to pop into the freezer in less than 5 minutes.
  • Only 3 ingredients. This unbelievably creamy sorbet comes together with just three wholesome, simple ingredients: strawberries, lemon juice and honey!
  • Low in added sugar. Unlike most store-bought sorbets, the added sugar is pretty minimal! It only needs 1-2 tbsp of honey or maple syrup. You could also use sugar free sweetener or leave it out if your berries are sweet enough.
  • Soooo smooth and creamy. Seriously, this sorbet has the best creamy texture. It is SO smooth and truly better than store-bought.

For full recipe instructions and complete list of ingredients, scroll down to the recipe card at the bottom of this page.

  • Fresh strawberries: Fresh fruit works the best but frozen strawberries will work in a pinch. This recipe is SO perfect for strawberry season.
  • Lemon juice: A little squeeze of lemon brings out the sweetness and flavor of the strawberries. Lime juice is a great swap here too.
  • Honey: Just a tablespoon of honey is enough to sweeten the strawberry mixture. Maple syrup, agave syrup, liquid sugar or monk fruit sweetener for a sugar-free option would work too.

Variation Ideas

  • Strawberry sorbet smoothie bowl: Add ½ the sorbet to a bowl, smooth and decorate with your favorite toppings like sliced berries, granola, chia seeds and a drizzle of peanut butter.
  • Strawberry mango: Use 2 cups of strawberries and 2 cups of sliced mango and follow the instructions as written.
  • Strawberry banana: Use 3 cups strawberries and 1 large banana for the sorbet base.
  • Strawberry raspberry: Use 2 cups strawberries and 2 cups raspberries for the base. Blend until the seeds are completely broken down before freezing.

My Pro Tip

Recipe Tips

  • Taste test. After blending ingredients, give it a taste! Add additional sweetener if needed (this will depend on your berries).
  • Blend blend blend. You need to blend the berries until they are completely smooth for the most creamy sorbet texture. Next time blend the sorbet base longer (1-2 minutes).
  • Re-spin if necessary. If your sorbet isn’t creamy enough after one re-spin, re-spin it an additional time.
  • Use frozen berries. Swap fresh berries for frozen! Just make sure to blend as directed. Don’t put whole frozen berries directly into the pint container.
