Greek Yogurt

Greek yogurt is known for its high protein content, and Oikos Triple Zero is no exception. It stands out with its zero added sugars and lack of artificial sweeteners, making it a lower-sugar option for those watching their added sugar intake.

Plain Greek yogurt is a great choice too, and has no added sugars. But personally, I like to choose a yogurt that has some flavor to it, especially for a quick snack that I don’t need to add anything to.

Oikos Triple Zero also has fewer calories than many other flavored Greek yogurts, which often contain higher sugar and fat content. This makes it a great choice for those looking for a lighter, lower sugar option while still getting the benefits of Greek yogurt.

Potential Health Benefits

Oikos Triple Zero yogurt has several possible health benefits. Let’s explore those!

High protein content

One of the standout features of Oikos Triple Zero is its high protein content with 15 grams of protein per serving. Protein is essential for muscle mass repair and growth and can help keep you feeling full longer. This can be helpful if you’re on a weight loss journey or just struggling to feel full and satisfied after meals and snacks.

Low sugar content

With zero added sugars, Oikos Triple Zero is an excellent choice if you’re looking to lower your consumption of sugar, lower calorie intake and keep your blood sugars stable. It’s especially helpful if you prefer sweet foods but are looking to lower sugar. Plus, the absence of artificial sweeteners is a plus for anyone who prefers not to consume those.

Probiotics

Like most yogurts, Oikos Triple Zero contains live active cultures that can benefit your gut health. These probiotics can aid in digestion and improve the balance of bacteria in your gut, contributing to overall well-being.

Pro Tip: According to the FDA, consuming yogurt regularly – at least 2 cups per week – may reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes.

Possible drawbacks

No product is a perfect fit for everyone; here are a few potential cons for Oikos Triple Zero yogurt.

  • Stevia sweetened: While Oikos Triple Zero avoids artificial sweeteners; instead, it’s sweet taste comes from stevia leaf extract. If you’re not a fan of stevia, you may not like this one!
  • Low fat and low calorie: If you’re not in need of a low calorie yogurt, this may not be the one for you! The lower fat content also makes it a bit different in texture compared with higher fat yogurts (I still find that it’s really creamy, though!).

Oikos Triple Zero yogurt offers a high-protein, low-sugar option that can fit well into a health-conscious diet. Its zero added sugars and no artificial sweeteners make it an excellent option for those looking to manage their sugar intake and overall health.

In terms of yogurt brands, it’s one of my favorites as a dietitian and I’d label it one of the “healthiest Greek yogurts” available. It’s high protein, tasty, zero sugar, and still benefits your gut microbiome with live cultures. I love pairing mine with fresh fruit and granola for a quick breakfast.

While this type of yogurt may not be suitable for everyone, especially those with dairy sensitivities or who prefer a richer texture, it’s a solid option for those seeking a healthy, convenient snack or meal addition.

  1. Great information , it is overwhelming to pick a healthy Greek yogurt. Some have lots of added sugar and some taste awful but I like Oikos. I put almonds and seeds to add additional taste and health benefits
    Thanks

  2. I just bought a 4 pack of Oikos Triple zero yogurt. I took the individual packs out of the packaging and put the individual containers in my fridge. THERE IS NO USE BY OR SALE DATE ON THE INDIVIDUAL PACKS! Even if this is legal, it is certainly dumb (and potentially dangerous)not to have the use by date in the individual packs.

    1. Anne they are usually on the top of every cup in small print – look a little harder and you should be able to find it. Other times I have also seen them on the side in small print.
