Ingredients

  1. Chicken sausage: I recommend choosing a neutral flavored chicken sausage, like roasted garlic. If you’re feeding more than 3 people, I’d use two packages to up the protein!
  2. Olive oil: For pan cooking the chicken sausage.
  3. Fresh broccoli florets: Broccoli works great here but you could also use cauliflower or a combination of both.
  4. Carrots: My favorite to use for a stir fry is matchstick carrots, but you can also use shredded (the carrots will just be much softer).
  5. Rice: For serving- brown rice or white rice are both fine. You could also serve over your favorite noodles.

Stir fry sauce

  1. Low sodium soy sauce: You can also use coconut aminos if you prefer.
  2. Honey: Honey adds the perfect amount of sweetness to this stir-fry sauce.
  3. Garlic: You’ll need lots of fresh garlic, of course! Use a garlic microplane to make your life a little easier.
  4. Cornstarch: Cornstarch helps to make this sauce nice and thick so that it coats the veggies and chicken sausage. If you don’t have any, your sauce will be on the thinner side.
  5. Lemon juice: Lemon adds the perfect amount of brightness and acidity to the sauce.
