Burger Meat + Toppings
- Ground turkey: Lean ground turkey is the perfect way to lighten up this delicious burger bowl. Ground chicken or lean ground beef work great too.
- Worcestershire sauce: This adds a deep meaty flavor to our lighter turkey meat.
- Oil + seasonings: A blend of spices like garlic powder, onion powder and paprika makes this burger meat so tasty!
- Greens and veggies: My favorite base is green leaf lettuce and cabbage plus cherry tomatoes and sweet onion or red onion.
- Dill pickle chips: This classic burger topping is a must!
- Shredded cheddar cheese: For a cheese burger vibe I like to add plenty of shredded cheddar.
Potato Wedges
You can also opt for frozen French fries or make my Air Fryer Potato Wedges!
- Russet potatoes: Russet potatoes are perfect for fries and wedges, they hold their shape and have a light fluffy interior.
- Avocado oil: I like avocado oil because it can cook at high heat and helps the seasonings stick to the potatoes.
- Seasonings: Salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and paprika are the perfect blend for seasoning that we use in the burger sauce and ground turkey too!
Burger Sauce
- Plain Greek yogurt: I recommend full fat for the best creamy texture.
- Mayonnaise: Just a little mayo for that classic burger sauce flavor.
- Ketchup + mustard: Ketchup adds a hint of sweet flavor while mustard adds a tangy twist.
- Apple cider vinegar: A little tang to balance the sauce.
- Honey: For just a touch of sweetness.
Variations
- Buffalo bowls. Swap out the burger sauce for a drizzle of buffalo sauce and blue cheese crumbles or dressing.
- Chipotle turkey burgers. Mix 1-2 chopped chipotle peppers in adobo sauce into the burger mix.
- Mason jar meal prep. Layer these bowls into mason jars for the week. Start with sauce, meat, tomatoes and pickles, onions, cabbage, lettuce and top with cheese. Dump and serve when you’re ready!
- Sweet potatoes. Swap the white potatoes for sweet potatoes!
- Use frozen fries. Swap the potato wedges for your favorite frozen french fry in the oven or air fryer. Seasoned waffle fries are delish here.
How To Make Turkey Burger Bowls

- Prep the potatoes. Toss clean, sliced potato wedges with oil and seasonings.

- Bake. Arrange seasoned potatoes in a single layer on a prepared baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees F for 30-35 minutes. Flip halfway through.

- Make the sauce. Add all burger sauce ingredients to small bowl or jar, mix well. Set aside.

- Cook the turkey. Heat a large skillet with oil over medium heat. Add ground turkey and cook for a few minutes before sprinkling with seasonings.

- Brown the meat. Continue cooking the meat for 6-7 minutes, breaking apart with a wooden spoon or spatula until completely cooked through (165 degrees F).

- Assemble the bowls. Start with a base of lettuce and cabbage, top with ground turkey, cheese, tomatoes, onions, pickles and potato wedges. Finish it off with a heavy drizzle of burger sauce!

How To Store
Store leftover cooked turkey, potatoes, toppings and sauce in separate airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Assemble another bowl when you’re ready to prevent them from getting soggy.
