These yogurt parfaits take everything comforting about peanut butter and jelly and turn it into a breakfast that feels fresher, creamier, and much more balanced. The homemade raspberry chia jam adds a bright berry flavor and extra fiber, while the layers of Greek yogurt and peanut butter make them especially filling for busy mornings.

They’re a great addition to my meal prep breakfast rotation along with some of my other high-protein meal prep favorites like Cottage Cheese Egg Bites, Breakfast Sandwiches, and Peanut Butter and Jelly Overnight Oats.

A Fruit and Yogurt Parfait That Actually Keeps You Full

These PB&J yogurt parfaits have all the nostalgic flavor of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, but in a version that feels fresher, creamier, and much more balanced for breakfast. Between the protein-packed Greek yogurt, homemade chia jam, peanut butter, and toppings, they’re the kind of breakfast you’ll genuinely want to keep stocked in the fridge.

Here’s why you’ll love them:

  • Higher in protein and fiber. Unlike many yogurt parfaits that feel more like a light snack, the Greek yogurt, peanut butter, and chia seeds made these jars much more filling and balanced.
  • Homemade chia jam. The raspberry chia jam adds fresh berry flavor and extra fiber while tasting fresher and less sugary than store-bought jam.
  • Perfect for busy mornings. The parfaits hold up well in the fridge, making them easy to prep ahead for the week.
  • Creamy, crunchy texture. The combination of ingredients and crunchy granola topping gives every bite a mix of creamy, crunchy, and jammy texture.
  • Classic PB&J flavor. They have all the creamy, peanut buttery, berry flavor of a PB&J while still feeling fresh and balanced.

Ingredient Notes

This Greek yogurt parfait comes together with just a few ingredients.

All of the ingredients for peanut butter and jelly yogurt parfaits in bowls on a white countertop.
  • Greek yogurt: Plan or vanilla Greek yogurt both work well depending on how sweet you want the parfaits. The Greek yogurt adds plenty of protein making them more filling. Use full fat or 2% Greek yogurt for the creamiest texture.
  • Raspberries: You can use fresh or frozen raspberries. You may also want fresh raspberries for topping.
  • Chia seeds: They naturally thicken the raspberry mixture into a quick homemade jam while also adding extra fiber.
  • Honey: Lightly sweeten the jam with honey to balance the tart raspberry flavor. Maple syrup also works well here.
  • Peanut butter: Creamy peanut butter drizzles best and gives the parfaits that classic PB&J flavor. Almond butter, cashew butter, or sunflower butter also work well if you want something different from peanut butter.
  • Granola: Adds crunch and texture that pairs especially well with the creamy yogurt and jam layers.

Variations

One of the best things about these greek yogurt parfait jars is how easy they are to customize depending on what you’re feeling or what you already have in the fridge.

  • Swap the berries. Try strawberries, blackberries, or a mix of berries in place of raspberries for a slightly different PB&J flavor.
  • Make them extra crunchy. Add granola right before serving so it stays crunchy and gives the parfaits more texture contrast.
  • Add chocolate chips. Mini chocolate chips make these parfaits taste like dessert while still working for breakfast or snack.
  • Increase the protein. Add a scoop of vanilla protein powder to the yogurt mixture for an even more filling breakfast option.

How to Make Yogurt Parfaits

JAMIE’s TIPS

Expert Recipe Tips

These yogurt parfaits are intentionally designed to feel more balanced and filling than many standard fruit and yogurt parfait recipes.

  • Let the chia jam cool slightly before layering. This helps keep the layers cleaner and creamier.
  • Don’t skip the chia jam. The homemade jam is what sets these parfaits apart from standard yogurt parfaits. It adds fresh berry flavor, texture, and extra fiber without relying on sugary store-bought jam.
  • Add crunchy toppings right before serving. Granola stays much crunchier when added at the end instead of during meal prep.
  • Make multiple jars at once. The recipe makes 4 jars and holds up well in the fridge for several days.

Storage Instructions

Store the yogurt parfait jars covered in the fridge for up to 3 days. For the best texture, keep granola and any crunchy toppings separate until ready to serve.

These fruit and yogurt parfaits are one of my favorite meal prep breakfast to keep in the fridge during busy weeks.

  • 2 tablespoons honey

Yogurt Parfait:

  • 4 cups plain or vanilla Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter, plus more as desired
  • Toppings: granola + fresh raspberries

Instructions
