Add brown sugar and apple cider to a medium saucepan and combine using a wooden spoon. Add cinnamon sticks.
Bring ingredients to a boil on medium-high heat and then immediately lower heat to a simmer.
Simmer for 5-10 minutes, stirring regularly. The longer you simmer the syrup, the thicker the syrup will be when it cools (the flavor will also deepen more with a longer simmer time). Once cooled, remove cinnamon sticks. Note: Syrup will appear quite "watery" when it's hot. Don't be alarmed, it will thicken as it cools and is refrigerated.
Add this apple brown sugar syrup to your favorite iced or hot coffee drinks, tea, or even ice cream, apple pie or apple crisp!
Notes
Nutrition facts are estimated and based on 20 servings of syrup, approximately 1 tbsp each. The exact serving size will depend on how long you simmer your syrup and may vary.
